Hey there, fellow moms and home enthusiasts! Have you ever looked around your house and felt like you were drowning in chaos? Well, fear not, because I’m here to share the tips of how I turned my chaotic home into a peaceful oasis.

  • Embracing the Mess: Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? Like many moms, my journey began with a house that felt like it was constantly teetering on the brink of chaos. Toys littered the living room floor, dishes piled up in the sink, and clutter seemed to multiply overnight. But instead of feeling defeated, I embraced the mess and saw it as an opportunity for transformation.
  • Setting Clear Goals: I set clear goals for what I wanted my home to look and feel like. Armed with a vision and a plan, I began…

  • Decluttering with Purpose: The first step to calmness was decluttering with purpose. I purged items that no longer served a purpose, freeing up valuable space and energy for the things that truly mattered. This wasn’t a one day task, I broke it down into different rooms (and even sections of rooms).

  • Creating Functional Spaces: I invested in storage solutions like baskets, bins, and shelving units to corral toys, books, and other essentials, keeping them organized and easily accessible. I transformed our guest room into a playroom. Now, I understand not everyone may have this option. But for me, we haven’t had guests stay over in a long time so the room was wasted space. My husband and I took the time to sell that bedroom set and invest in toy storage to create a nice play space for our kids.
  • Cultivating a Calm Atmosphere: Mornings with my two kids (both under the age of 2), we listen to calming music as I get breakfast ready for them. Sometimes, we sing and dance in the kitchen. Other times, my two year old plays. But I like to start the day with our favorite songs. Right now it’s “Days Like This” by Van Morrison. Also, in keeping it real, some mornings I have a toddler screaming at me impatiently so don’t worry, you aren’t alone!

  • Embracing Imperfection: Along the way, I learned to embrace imperfection and let go of the pressure to have a picture-perfect home. Pinterest, instagram, and TikTok all highlight the best and I try to remember it’s not all perfect.
